The defence grilling the lead investigator for the Richard Oland murder during testimony today at the second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland.
Alan Gold questioned Constable Stephen Davidson about the Saint John Police Force’s investigative techniques.
Gold suggested to Davidson that the person responsible for this horrible crime would likely have very bloody clothing afterwards.
Davidson agreed and Gold asks him “Did it ever occur to you or anyone in the department on July 7th to 10th to check with dry cleaners in the area to see if anyone brought in bloody clothes?” Davidson responded, “no, it was never suggested.”
Gold also questioned why police never checked the foyer at Richard Oland’s office at the Far End Corporation for evidence saying “Have I been watching too much CSI? Isn’t that what you are supposed to do?” to which Davidson responded “yes”.
