As promised, a petition has been created by the New Brunswick Museum seeking support for a new facility.
The project that would combine two existing operations, in Market Square and on Douglas Avenue, in a brand new facility on the waterfront in Saint John hit a major snag this week when the PC government pulled $50 million in funding.
The change.org petition asks that people join the effort to ensure proper new facilities for the New Brunswick Museum.
They are seeking 2500 signatures and nearing the 2300 mark.
At a media conference earlier this week, museum board chair Shannon Merrifield said they were not consulted about the decision to pull the funding and they would like to see the government overturn it.
