A Harvey Station woman has just published a brand new book that deals with intolerance and fear that takes place in the present and the past.
Laverne Stewart says “Coven of the Soul Sisters” is about women who are healers and midwives in the 1600’s and a woman who travels to New England in hopes of escaping being branded as a witch.
“Trouble finds them there and once again she is pursued by witch hunters, fast forward 300 years re-incarnated souls of the persecutors and those accused of witchcraft are embattled again,” says Stewart.
Stewart says the book is about intolerance and she was sadly inspired by what she sees today.
“It’s all about what happens when people mistrust one another, are not willing to allow others to live as they want to live, whether its freedom of religion, sexual orientation, people who are intolerant of others,” stated Stewart.
Stewart says the title of the book came to her while she was cooking breakfast for her family and it took only six weeks to write it.
