This is a real loser coming down this way — that from Green Party candidate for Saint John-Rothesay Sharon Murphy talking about the Energy East pipeline.
Murphy says no jobs are coming, there’s sludge coming.
She says “this pipeline is to take the sludge send it out to sea to the world market for speculators to get what they want from it on the back of our people’s health, on the back of the environment and safety for all.”
Meantime TransCanada says during planning and construction the Conference Board of Canada says the pipeline will support 2300 full time direct and spin off jobs in New Brunswick.
As well, TransCanada states that safety is a key priority for them.
