Provincial Director for New Brunswick’s Terry Fox Foundation Gwen Smith Walsh says researchers will tell you, the amount of money that has been raised to help in the efforts to find a cure, is because of Terry Fox, “Many of them say, we wouldn’t be where we are today without Terry’s legacy and what he started. Millions of dollars has gone to cancer research and it has made a major difference in the lives of others. People are living longer because of Terry.”
Smith-Walsh says to this day, millions of people continue to be touched by the story of Terry Fox to this day, and they take part in the annual run, honouring his memory, “We have a young lady, a cancer survivor, who visited out office three weeks ago, who said she is alive today because of Terry Fox.”
