The escalators are out of service for safety reasons as the City works with a contractor to determine the work that is required.
They expect the repairs will take three weeks and the City will try to make at least one escalator available during peak pedestrian traffic times.
There is a small elevator nearby the public can use when the escalators are out of service.
With a lot more traffic expected today as people make their way to see the Prime Minister at 130pm today, we are told the City is working hard to have the down escalator running for this peak time.
The city apologizes for the inconvenience the escalator repairs may cause suggesting everyone take extra time to get through the pedway or use another route.
