The Chignecto Recreation Area at Fundy National Park has been upgraded with a new and unique system of hiking and cycling trails.
The federal government invested $2 million in infrastructure upgrades, including a new ‘pump track’ for bikes, which is a circuit of banked turns and features designed to be ridden by up and down body movements.
Other work has also been completed, including a new pavilion, upgrades to the Point Wolfe Campground, and a new Bay of Fundy Saltwater pool and splash pad.
Infrastructure upgrades underway or expected to begin this year are intended to improve critical habitat for fish, like the Atlantic Salmon and to reduce erosion in the area.
