After winning a contest to come up with a new limited-edition beer for Scottish craft beer retailer Innis & Gunn, a Grand Bay-Westfield man’s creation is now available.
Don Guimond created a black IPA featuring rhubarb and coconut and Canadians voted for it as the national winner.
In February he went to Scotland to help brew it with the master brewer and founder, Dougal Gunn Sharp, at the Innis & Gunn factory.
“He loved it saying this is really going to challenge us to find the right amount of rhubarb but he loved the idea,” Guimond said.
He tells us his family and friends are excited to check it out.
“They are very supportive, they are super proud of me and they can’t wait to try it”.
The winning IPA is called “Don’s Choice” and it’s available following an official launch in Fredericton today.
