The three fires that were burning within Base Gagetown’s Range and Training area are said to be no longer active.
An update from National Defence says DND forestry personnel were able to contain the fires and limit them from spreading and there was never risk to nearby communities, DND property and people other than the impact from smoke.
The updates continues to say with the fire weather index now low some restrictions on military training have been lifted and some units have recommenced live-fire training.
An air quality advisory had been issued for the Fredericton region because of the smoke.
