Barry Ogden, organizer of the mural project and a retired school teacher, hopes to have a mural of Partridge Island on Prince William Street soon.
Ogden says they’ve done 91 murals and 45 are still up in the city.
He says the project does a lot to brighten the city up, but the murals also tell the story of our history.
The mural will cost $16,000, but Ogden says they’ve already been able to raise $8,000.
Ogden says he contacted the Jewish museum, the Irish association, and Harold Wright, who’s an expert on Partridge Island, so they could all have their input before the sketch was done.
The mural project was started in hopes of revitalizing parts of the city.
