The Executive Director of ACAP Saint John Graeme Stewart-Robertson calls the damage at Seaside Park caused by Councillor Blake Armstrong with his excavator “relatively extensive”.
Stewart-Robertson has high hopes that the area can be restored and says it’s more about the act itself than the size and severity of the damage. The damage is limited to an area that’s a couple hundred metres long by about 30 metres wide.
Stewart-Robertson says it’s great to see citizens like Councillor Armstrong interested in wanting to improve our green spaces but the way it was done about wasn’t necessarily appropriate.
It was announced last week that police are investigating the damage done.
Armstrong used his own excavator to clear some brush at the park without permission.
