Soccer New Brunswick has donated $35,000 to the Greater Saint John Field House Project.
The project includes two turf pitches for field sports, a track, community centre and daycare.
The project will cost $24 million dollars and half of the funding needs to be raised from the community.
The city, province and federal government will be contributing the other half.
The $35,000 from Soccer NB brings the community commitment over $10.5 million dollars.
Soccer NB Executive Director Younes Bouida hopes the field house project will play an influential role in growing soccer in Southern New Brunswick.
The second phase of the project will include the construction of a sports arena with two ice surfaces for the purpose of replacing aging community rinks.
