Parents and supporters of 7 schools in Saint John, whose futures are up in the air, question how much weight the Ernst and Young report should be given.
Roger Nesbitt of the District Education Council told one meeting it will serve as a framework for the final decisions on school closures. That doesn’t sit well with Jason Stephen whose son attends M. Gerald Teed in Millidgeville.
Stephen says the community at large was not consulted before the Ernst and Young report was compiled so he considers it to be flawed.
That same meeting was told if the District Education Council’s recommendations are radically different from the Ernst and Young report then the whole process will have to start all over again which came as a surprise to parents and their supporters.
