A 54-year old man is going to face charges in relation to the vandalism of two memorials honouring fallen firefighters and police officers in Victoria Park.
Police identified the man based on information from the general public.
The man has no fixed address and was arrested without incident on St. George Street near Victoria Park.
On January 29, 2017, police received a complaint that red paint had been sprayed onto the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) memorial honouring Moncton firefighters who died serving the people of Moncton.
Red paint was also sprayed on the Moncton Police Force memorial honouring officers killed in the line of duty.
The man is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, February 9th, to be charged.
