You may have heard about Tuxy, a Moncton-based company known for their for their revolutionary one-piece suits.
About a year ago, CEO Derek Martin appeared on an episode of Dragons Den and scored a deal with not one but two of the Dragons.
Martin recently met up with Lane Merrifield and Jim Treliving to provide an update on the business and a new product.
“The STORM suit. So it’s kind of the ultimate rain suit for any adventure. Utilizing our patented design making it a full one-piece rain suit so you stay completely dry,” he says.
Martin says the company continues to evolve, always trying to push the boundaries and reinvent the way people think about clothing.
So far, they’ve sold over 9 thousand units worldwide.
“When we first launched, people kind of cringed and said ‘ah, well maybe I’d wear one at home during Christmas, but not in public,” he says.
Now, Martin says he hears from customers all the time about how they wear their Tuxy, whether it be to brave the cold, stay cozy indoors or even to the gym.
“You know how everyone has their own story, I feel like in turn, every Tuxy has their own story to tell,” he says.
And while you won’t find their products in stores, Martin says they are available for rapid delivery through their website.
