A new Remembrance Day stamp pays tribute to the only female Canadian civilian to have been imprisoned by the Nazis during the Second World War.
Canada Post unveiled the stamp featuring Nova Scotia-born Mona Parsons in Wolfville Monday.
Parsons and her husband helped the Dutch resistance by hiding Allied airmen whose planes had been shot down in the occupied Netherlands.
The postage stamp also shows an image of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, whose troops Parsons met after she escaped from a German prison in 1945 and walked 125 kilometres to the Dutch border.
