The Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick is celebrating 50 years of service.
CEO Kurtis Sisk says working with the foundation has been the best job he’s ever had.
Sisk says since 1950 cardiovascular disease has dropped by 75 percent.
He says those numbers show that the work the foundation is doing is really paying off.
Sisk says implementing the telestroke program has been one of the biggest achievements he’s witnessed from the foundation, because of the way it helps lessen the effects of a stroke and can reverse the effects in some strokes.
He calls the program a “phenomenal achievement”.
